Fast, Easy, and Fun!
As an ADHD Ranger, I have often been a poster child for procrastination. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve put off getting a gift for a baby shower or a little one’s 1st birthday–until I’d finally end up grabbing another giant, boringly practical, overpriced box of disposable diapers. The worst of it is that all I really wanted was to be one of those competent, creative people who always seemed to show up with an absolutely adorable hand-crafted baby quilt! How I envied their casual confidence when the inevitable questions (& applause) started--and don't get me wrong, they deserved the kudos...I just wanted to be able to share my love with my special Grandies with one of those amazing handmade quilts too…
I always had great intentions; I wanted to make one of those cute quilts, really, I did. But it seemed kind of pointless to even try. After all,
I already felt like I didn’t have enough time, so how was I going to find enough time to actually make a whole baby quilt?
And I was absolutely sure it would be way too hard–after all, I barely knew how to sew a seam; I definitely didn’t know how to make a baby quilt, and
Getting all excited about something I was pretty much guaranteed to fail at seemed like a big invitation to frustration & another unfinished pile of “failure" taking up space I couldn't spare while I still ended up buying another box of disposable diapers! I would just as soon take a hard pass on the misery, thank you very much. I needed some fun in my life–not more frustration!
Fast forward to today–it’s taken me a while, but I’ve finally figured this one out–thank heavens! And since you’re still reading, I’m guessing you’re probably a lot like me–you’d like to show up with the adorable handmade baby quilt, it’s just that you need it to be fast & easy…and in a perfect world…could it maybe even be fun? Is that even possible?
Yes–it is! I can tell you from experience, you just need:
a little bit of knowledge,
a few basic skills,
enough tools to get the job done, &
a clear set of instructions to follow.
