You probably don't normally think of "builders" when you think about quilters, but Bert & I both came out of the building trades--which means we're always asking how are things made? We want to know: what are the basic components, and how are those components put together?

We're both also from long lines of quilters--men & women who created beauty even as they constructed quilts out of a pragmatic need for warmth. So it seemed only natural that as we began to quilt, we brought our construction skills to the quilting process . And believe me, it makes quilting so much easier!

We love quilts...the colors & textures, the way simple changes create amazing new designs...the warm, generous people we meet along the way...men & women who willingly share what they've learned over the years. And we're constantly asking everyone we meet for their thought & ideas for faster, easier ways to create stronger, more beautiful quilts & quilt projects.

And like the many quilters who continue to guide us with kindness & share generations of quilting knowledge, we want to share our quilting knowledge & adventures with you, because we've learned over the years, that all you need to build a quilt are the same basic components you need for any building project: a plan; the right tools & equipment; & the right materials.

Mix it all with a bit of labor & love, and voila! You've constructed your first One Block Baby Quilt!

The BIG Secret is simply this: building always starts with nothing more than a vision--after that, it really is by the numbers...and we can help you with that! You can do this! We know you can, because we have!
